This is a live preface to the double-album entitled Songs of the Tarot, consisting of twenty-two songs, each adapted from one of the cards of the Major Arcana. The album is based on an eponymous novel in which the protagonist Jet Dread Stone drinks a lot and undergoes an apprenticeship in black magic with a demonic cat named Tom. The book is about the erotic apocalyptic expenditures of the human race and the ascendancy of nonliving matter.
