Country of origin marking
Manufactured items generally always need to have the county of origin indicated on the product. The country of origin is the country in which the product is manufactured. For example practically everything in Walmart should say "Made in China".
If you are an American firm or individual importing promotional discs, cassettes, or printed items that are not being sold in the USA then you can be exempted from the marking requirements. However there is a small chance that your shipment may be delayed as you prove that you are not selling the product. In practice it is easier to just indicate where the product is manufactured to avoid problems.
The Nafta Agreement
Canada, Mexico, and the USA have signed the NAFTA agreement which eliminates all duties between the 3 countries. However there are forms to fill out and records to be kept proving the country of origin of the products. You don't have to worry about this because we take care of all those details.
Amtech's products are generally made in Canada but could also be made in the USA or overseas. We will usually add the country of origin marking to your product to avoid any possible delays in crossing borders.
